Welcome to Lime Tree Café and Delicatessen

Our café was opened by Nick & Alison Iles in September 2005 and has firmly established itself as a popular destination for either a drink and a light snack or a three course lunchtime meal.

All food is freshly prepared each day by manager Sheila Wilson and her dedicated team. Work starts early each morning baking our famous fruit scones and quiches and preparing fresh soups and tasty lunchtime 'specials'. We offer a wide range of sandwiches, paninis and a daily traditional 'roast' with all the trimmings as well as more modern cooking where we allow our chefs to demonstrate their creativity. We're open 7 days and there's ample free parking.

Our new delicatessen opened in the summer of 2008 after almost 9 months planning and building . We first had to move our aquarium centre before building work could begin on the 'deli' and finally in July we opened our doors for business. The idea for the deli had been in my head since starting the café in 2005.

Our inspiration has been driven by our love of food and wine but the single biggest influence has been the work of the Avoca cafes and food halls in Ireland. My wife's Irish and it was a wedding present, the Avoca café cookbook, that first encouraged me to start the café and plan for the deli. We don't have the space of an Avoca but we can aspire to do what they do, albeit on a smaller scale.
